the 'small' deal is that users can send email from their machine in the browser. the broader implication is that assuming the HTML5 FILE API is (considered?)supported in the major browsers, ..or in chrome NOW we can change the way email is handled by using python scripts/cgi or HTML5 file API to display filesystem contents and re-organize emails locally or to enhance this functionality by transforming how email is used.
